Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens, Williston, Florida
Back in 1993, Dr Ray Webber had an incredible vision when he purchased 100 acres of land outside Williston, Florida. The land had a limestone quarry on it. One wheel barrow at a time he turned it into a beautiful botanical garden. Over 100 different species of plant life now flourish in over 50 individual gardens scattered throughout what was just a bare quarry. He has created punic areas and pavilions in various areas of the quarry. We stopped and got sandwiches in Williston and traversed the trails to the bottom of the quarry for a peaceful lunch. The gardens comprise approximately 20 acres, with a 54 acre buffer of protected land by the Conservation Trust of Florida. Check this hidden gem out at http://www.cedarlakeswoodsandgraden.com
